The 7 surf camp weeks in collaboration with Vinea holidays take place during the summer vacation. Perfect for kids who can’t get enough of the beach, sea, and surfing.

How big are the groups?

For this vacation, there is a minimum of 10 and a maximum of about 60 participants. The average group size for this vacation is 20 participants. The location accommodates a maximum of 60 participants.

Are the surflessons safe?

Surfing remains an ‘extreme sport,’ and, like any other sport, it carries safety risks. We use small groups, and you’ll be taught by internationally certified surf instructors who hold a lifeguard diploma. We maintain close communication with the rescue brigade. After an extensive safety theory session, you can confidently enter the water with our instructors.

How does a week of surfcamp in The Netherlands look like?

Experience the ultimate surf lifestyle in ‘s-Gravenzande! During the day, you’ll be catching waves, and in the evening, you can relax with your new surf friends on the beach or in the hammocks by the campfire. One warning: surfing is addictive. Once you get that thrill, you’ll never want anything else.

For a whole week, you’ll learn how to surf from Dutch top surfers on one of the best surf spots in the Netherlands. ‘s-Gravenzande is an excellent location because the waves are super long, and the seabed consists of fine sand. When you stand on your board and ride the waves, it feels epic!

We stay at a campsite. Here, a real surf camp is set up! You can bike a short 15 minutes to the beach. The campsite has a chill corner with music, hammocks, and Fatboys. In addition to surfing, we’ll also do longboarding, bodyboarding, Bubbel soccer, play beach volleyball, and much more.

Surf’s up!

You want to ride the waves like a true pro. Who better to teach you than the professionals themselves?! For five days straight, you’ll receive two hours of surfing lessons per day, and, when conditions allow, you’ll have supervised free surf time! The instructors are certified and among the top surfers in the Netherlands. You’ll even get lessons from the number 1 surfer in the country!

The instructors guide you step by step. You’ll start with a bit of theory on the beach, covering topics like the workings of the sea, waves, and currents – all crucial aspects of surfing! Soon after, you’ll hit the water. You’ll learn how to stand on the board and maintain your balance. Then, it’s all about a lot of practice. With high-quality lessons and a bit of determination, you’ll be riding the waves smoothly by the end of the week!

Other activities during the week:

**Bodyboarding:**
More action on the water! Bodyboarding is fortunately less tiring than surfing. You simply lie on the board. Did you know you can also perform stunts? Try jumping above the waves, super cool!

**Longboarding:**
 What do surfers do on land? Longboarding, for example! Steering with your longboard is a bit like the movements during surfing. The smooth asphalt paths around the campsite are perfect for riding your longboard. Let’s go!

**Indoboarding:**
With indoboarding, you try to find your balance on a small board balancing on a roller. Professional surfers often use this exercise as a warm-up. It’s effective for improving your balance. Plus, you can do cool tricks, like the cross-step and a 180° turn.

**Powerkiting:**
Is it windy on the beach? Get ready! With powerkiting, you’ll truly feel the strength of the wind. A large kite can pull you along. It’s quite different from a regular kite. That’s why you’ll learn how to steer and maintain control. You can also jump and try to fly through the air!

**Archery Tag:**
 Bow and arrow ready, go! Run, dive behind obstacles, and shoot. Try to shoot all the targets of the opponent together with your team. And make sure you don’t get hit! Who wins this exciting battle?

**Bubbel soccer:**
Play football in a big plastic ball. Guaranteed fun and a lot of laughs!

**Surf Contest:**
At the end of the week, it’s time for the one and only Vinea Surf Contest. During this legendary surf competition, you compete with your fellow vacationers for the first prize. Time to show what you’ve learned from the surf pros. Who has the best surf skills?

**Sun, Sea, Beach:**
 We fully embrace the surfer lifestyle this week. That means lots of enjoyment! That’s why there’s also time to just chill on the beach. Swim in the sea, play beach volleyball, or relax in the sun. If you’re lacking inspiration, the tour leaders are there with the best ideas for fun games and activities. With Vinea, you’ll never be bored!

**Party Time:**
 We end the week in style with a rocking beach party. Music, drinks, and lots of fun with your new friends. A fantastic end to an amazing vacation!

Frequently Asked Questions about the surf camp:

**On what kind of surfboards will I receive lessons?**
You will receive lessons on soft-top surfboards. These boards are designed for beginners. The top of the boards has a soft rubber coating, and the fins are made of flexible rubber to prevent injuries. They are also extra stable, making it easier for you to stand up.

**Is it a problem if I’ve never surfed before?**
The majority of your fellow vacationers have never surfed, and that’s absolutely not a problem. The instructors are accustomed to teaching beginner Vinea participants, so everything will be fine. But even if you can already surf, this vacation is enjoyable for improving your control over the waves!

**How long are the surfboards?**
Depending on your height and weight, you will receive a board that suits you perfectly! There are boards ranging from 2 to 3.5 meters long! Long boards are stable in the water, making it easy for you to get the hang of it quickly.

**Do you wear a wetsuit while surfing?**
Yes, you wear a wetsuit. This ensures that you can stay in the water for a longer time, as you remain comfortably warm. There are various sizes of wetsuits, so there’s always one that fits you.

**Can I bring my phone, tablet, or game?**
Yes, you can. However, there are specific agreements regarding phone usage; check here for the rules applicable to your location. Bringing a phone/tablet is at your own risk. We recommend bringing as little electronics as possible.
