The Surfclub for kids are once a week, on a fixed day during the weekend. Perfect for kids who have caught the bug and want to work on surf techniques more frequently each week while having fun in the water, of course!

What is included?

The lesson price includes a custom-sized wetsuit, custom-sized surfboard, and a certified surf instructor!

What do I have to bring?

Sunscreen for your face, hands, and feet. A bottle of water for after the surf lesson, a towel to dry off, and snug swimwear such as trunks or a swimsuit.

Is the surf lesson safe?

Surfing remains an ‘extreme sport,’ and like any other sport, there are safety risks involved. We maintain small groups, provide lessons from internationally certified surf instructors holding lifeguard diplomas, and have close connections with the lifeguard team. After comprehensive safety theory, you can confidently enter the water with our instructors.

Where is the surfschool located?

Dutch Surf Academy is located next to the popular beach tent “De Pit” in ‘s-Gravenzande. Navigate to Dutch Surf Academy, park in the parking lot, walk onto the beach, and you’ll find us on your right-hand side.

How can I pay?

When you make a reservation, you can easily pay online via iDEAL. You also have the option to pay on-site with a debit card or in cash.

Surfclub for kids

The ‘Kids Club’ is a surf subscription specially designed for children who enjoy (learning) surfing weekly with their peers. In a playful manner, the kids will master the ins and outs of surfing.

How does the Surfclub for kids look like?

There is a fixed lesson in the weekend (on Saturday or Sunday).

We coordinate the lessons through a WhatsApp group, deciding each week which day and time over the weekend has the best and safest waves. You have the flexibility to choose when to come; you indicate your availability in the WhatsApp group. Payment is only required when you participate.

During the kids’ lesson, we start with theory. You’ll learn about the sea, including the origin of waves, different types of waves, and how to recognize and deal with currents like rip currents. On dry land, we practice how to stand up on the board and discuss safety measures.

Then it’s time to practice in the water. Instructors accompany you, guide you into the right waves, and provide plenty of tips throughout the lesson.

In no time, you’ll become an experienced surfer who can surf independently. During these lessons, you can achieve A, B, and C surf diplomas.

On average, it takes 10 lessons per surf diploma.
